Love themSeptember 3, 2010 Matt(New Jersey) I love these pens! The colors are great and work wonderfully for making flashcards. I've made hundreds of flash cards at this point and they are still going strong. They literally write like a Sharpie marker that does not bleed through various types of paper. Will be buying more when these die.
Write nicely... but fail for what people think of by the brand "Sharpie"August 27, 2010 njTSX(New Jersey) Used this pen on vellum... smeeeaaaaaaar. I thought Sharpies were permanent? I guess not... when I use a Sharpie I assume it's quick drying (almost 5 minutes, in this case) and permanent. If you are looking for the expected Sharpie qualities, I'd recommend passing on these. The ink is also not very opaque on vellum/tracing paper... looks like the usual dark gray/purplish Sharpie color. If you're careful and writing on regular more porous papers, go for it... they write just as nicely as Micron pens.
Good but...July 28, 2010 Britt I really like the sharpie pen. I specifically love them for underlining in my law text books for two reasons; the line is brightly colored and therefore easy to see (there are also many different colors if you're into that)... and second, it doesn't bleed through the super thin pages. Ball point pens leave impressions or break through the page and most liquid ink pens bleed through... these do neither. Also thin enough to still write in the margins.
BIGGEST COMPLAINT: The tips push in quickly and render the pen useless. Seeing as how these are pretty expensive pens, and that the colored ones are hard to find, this quality about them sucks. I love using them when they are new but they quickly deteriorate and then become a pain to use. So not the best value. I hope this is fixed soon. Other minor point, I don't use these pens to write every day notes. For that I prefer RSVP pens because they are a finer line and the ink makes for faster writing.
Great pen as long as not hurryingJuly 27, 2010 Fraggle Lite I love these pens (look at all the 5 star reviews where people list how amazing they are for those details, because I agree with all those amazing wonders this pen is capable of)
The only downside (and the reason posting a review at all) is that if you're writing in a hurry (be it taking notes in class or finishing an essay), be REALLY CAREFUL not to put the pen to the paper too hard, because the tip of the pen can snap sideways. At that point there are only two options: chuck it into the wastebasket or write with the tip slanted even though it will move on you every five seconds and you'll lose ink flow (I really REALLY didn't want to throw away the orange one!). Normal writing never had a problem with it, but when writing something down very quickly, usually the period (that jabbing dot) will kill the pen. Just a warning.
Other than that I am completely enthralled with it.
Great PensJuly 21, 2010 Marjorie J. Bigham(Delaware, USA) Sharp has done it again! These are fine products for scrapbooking, cardmaking, journaling, letter writing, any writing that you do. Easy flowing fine point without distortion. Glad I purchased them.
