piece of junkJuly 2, 2010 AmandaJ the wood actually splintered when i lowered the shelves down. very poorly made. i have never seen a piece of furniture disengrate in my hands like this did! also, pay attention to the measurements it is much smaller than it looks in the picture.

It was packaged well and it was not scratched or damaged in any way. The unit itself is made of wood. It is a beautifully simple style that can go with many decors, contemporary, traditional or Mission style. It truly was put together in about 60 seconds!!! is as easy as opening a book. If you need to move it, it is a simple process of closing and carrying to a new place. Take it from me, I have spent hours putting together other furniture before. It was great to open box and have it ready to go! The unit itself was smaller than expected despite knowing the dimensions. It is also not the strongest unit to put heavy books on but for moderate amount of books and maybe display it works great. I would buy this again and recommended highly. If it wasn't for the size, I would give it a 5!

Actually, you don't even really put it together. You just sort of unfold it. It is now in my room, full of books, and is holding up perfectly well.
