Pluses:
-Good tight construction, no cheap creaky plastic feel.
-No nonsense super snappy and tight response (best I've ever experienced)
-Excellent tracking
-no problems with installation
Minuses:
-for those used to 4 button mice, this two button and wheeled mouse might be a bit of a step down from functionality (such as back scrolling websites)
-Unless you sit high up with respect to the desk, the hump of the mouse puts a bit of pressure on the palm of the hand. It can get a tad uncomfortable if your hand posture is not right.
-A bit pricey compared to what's out there, but not too bad.
For me the pluses far out weigh the minuses. I love the tight response of the mouse.

The good: I plug it in and it works smoothly. The buttons are quiet clicks. The scroll wheel makes no noise rolling down, and clicks very quietly rolling up.
The bad: You can't push down on the scroll wheel to turn your cursor into that circle with triangles inside to scroll smoothly at your own pace using the cursor; in other words, the scroll wheel doesn't click at all. (For some this may be a pro.)
Also: I've noticed with some mice that when you accidentally knock the mouse about, the right or left mouse button will register a click. I've knocked this one about both accidentally and deliberately and I haven't gotten any unwanted clicking.
Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse Model SBF-96June 7, 2010 H. Williams(So. Cal.) This mouse is your basic 2 button and center wheel optical mouse. It works just fine and is comparable with the slightly more expensive Model M-BZ96C which is just labeled Logitech Optical USB Mouse here in Amazon. The SBF-96 has a flat black surface that isn't quite as smooth as the other model but everything else seems to work identically. I think the wheel may not be quite as smooth turning, with slightly rougher clicks, but it works just fine. I bought both mice to compare and will just buy this one again if I need another one. Good value for your money.

Simple and easy to useJune 6, 2010 James Show(Wilmington, DE USA) I need a USB optical mouse. This one is what I want. I open the box, plug it to my different PCs. Some have window xp and others have window 7. It works on all PCs. No software installation is needed. With such descent price, this is definitively my first choose. I used to have a wireless mouse and had to remember recharge battery. For wired mouse like this, you don't need to worry about recharge. You always have a better control with wired mouse. This mouse fits my philosophy: simplicity and worksLogitech 3-Button USB Optical Wheel Mouse - Black (SBF-96).
Simple mouseJune 4, 2010 E.T. This is a simple replacement mouse that is comfortable and effective for my needs. I had two ergo mice that went in less than a year each but were a lot more expensive. We will see how long this one lasts but for the price it's good either way!
