Great Software!September 7, 2010 New Aggie The best anti-virus and internet security I've ever used. Doesn't affect how my computer works, and keeps it virus free. Database are always up to date, and got it from amazon for a really good deal, even cheaper than the student discount prices. By all means, Get one!
Don't buy the 2010 version- update problems!September 6, 2010 Pamela Branum(texas) There are major problems with the update to 2011. These are the problems I have had with the update. (If you go to the Kaspersky message board you can read about it.) First problem~ "Threat detected" This window will pop up and change the new button gadget on your desktop to red instead of green. It pops up intermittently while on the computer. When you click on it to fix it, it does nothing. You think you have a virus and cannot fix it.
If you have this problem go to the message board and the moderators will try to help you. But let me tell you it is convoluted! On mine the "threat" no longer appears on the report and yet the window still pops up.
Second problem~ I have Windows 7 on one laptop and Vista on the other. The Windows Picture program will freeze up. Not just freeze up but FREEZE UP! You can't get out of it. I have to remove the battery to set things right.
Go to the Kaspersky 2011 Security Center link here on Amazon to read someone else discuss this. So buyer beware!
The one I recommend for my customers!September 6, 2010 E. Morrow(CA) I own a PC repair business. This Internet security suite is the only paid subscription product I recommend to all my customers. I have it installed on all my computers. It is adapting and very configurable. It has an on screen keyboard called the virtual keyboard. Password stealing viruses don't usually make it obvious you have a virus, so if one does get through, as long as you are using the virtual keyboard to enter your password, they still can't get it. While keystrokes can be recorded, using a mouse, all they can record is that you clicked a mouse, not the letter you are clicking on. I see people often complaining about it updating too often, this is what a good AV will do, get the new protection as soon as it is available. Many other AV programs will wait 12-48 hours to auto update. If this becomes a problem, you can easily set it to update only when computer is idle. It also has a game mode, where it will not update or scan while in a full screen game. It has many identity theft protections, Instant messaging protection(that has saved me a few times), and has a "safe run" mode to browse in, or run programs in, where it will contain the virus. If a newer version comes out during your subscription, you get it free. I have this running on 3 Windows XP home, 1 Windows XP pro, and a WIN 7 32 bit system, all running smooth with no glitches. As it adapts to your system, it only gets faster and better! Too many more options to go over, just know this one is a winner!
It's good.September 6, 2010 Rafae Khan It is what it says it is. Solid internet/virus protection.
I've used Kaspersky in the past and had good experiences with their tech. support.
